Thanksgiving

Here are a few shots from Thanksgiving week....

Tristan (Laura's son) and Nana (Mom) making turkey place markers filled with m&ms...

Nana playing hockey with Matthew, while Megan looks on - my cousin Becky's two cute kids.....

Robbie and I - not quite sure what look Robbie is going for here - Amish, Jewish, who knows...

Cousin Emily (and yes, that's how we actually refer to her), Megan and me relaxing after eating way too much pie....

Papa (Dad) and Megan - I know, shocking to see my father holding a small child, but Megan is such a sweetie that my dad couldn't resist her....

My cousin Becky (we just call her Becky), her husband Cameron, Matthew, Megan and myself....I have a wonderful family....
This year I spent Thanksgiving with my parents, my sister Laura and her family, my brother and two cousins with families and my friend Christyn. It was so wonderful to be back in the states for the holidays after being away for the last two years. I was able to make my famous cornbread, chorizo stuffing and actually got my fill of pumpkin pie! I loved it! I am so grateful for so many things especially for this land that I live in. It wasn't until I left it that I realized just how wonderful it is and how blessed we are to live in a land with so many freedoms and rights. We aren't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but we have so much more than others and I think we forget that at times. How grateful I am for such a wonderful Peace Corps experience that helped me realize what a great country we live in and all the opportunities that we have.
